About Marina Morris Fisher

Marina has a degree in Fine Art and Art History from Goldsmiths College, University of London. She then went on to work as a set decorator in the film industry for over 20 years.

Having moved from London to Devon seven years ago, she has once again resumed her first love and passion- painting.

Sometimes her work is an immediate and intuitive response to the strength of the natural environment; or more often evolving emotionally back in her studio, after times pent sketching, and the memories thereof – with strong gestures of marks and the spaces in between capturing sheer strength of nature and light in special, favourite locations.

About Susan Burgess

Throughout her life, Derbyshire based artist Susan Burgess has worked with colour and texture. She draws her inspiration from her current surroundings in the Peak District with deep heather hues and also from her time spent living in Cornwall near St. Ives where she was influenced by the whole atmosphere of the area from the rugged coastline to the unique light afforded by the North Cornwall coast. She attended the St. Ives Art School. Susan mainly works in oils and uses strong colours. Her paintings are predominantly thick paint worked with a brush or palette knife. Her recent bold landscapes and seascapes include dry pigments from the hills around Roussillon in France which are “thrown” onto liquid oil paint to create exciting textured paintings. In contrast, she also enjoys painting Still Life creating sensitive and thought provoking works which reflect the emotion of expectation.
